On June 9 and 10, 2024 (after the Czech Championship), ICU cheerleading judges training with international certification will take place in Prague, it is already possible to register for the training through the ICU Educational Portal,

The training will be carried out by the highly respected Mike Cooper, who you may know from other ICU trainings, or as a judge at ICU Worlds, etc.

Training will take place in OREA HOTELS s.r.o. | Bělohorská 24 | 169 00 Praha 6, https://www.orea.cz/hotel-pyramida, which is right next Prague castle and near the city centre. Code for accomodation will be provided.

The training is intended not only for novice judges but also for choreographers and trainers who want to look deeply into the evaluation system and build their sets so that they can achieve as many points as possible.

If you are interested in becoming a judge, this training is required at European but also worlds competitions evaluating according to the ICU system, it is a prerequisite for ICU European Championships and ICU WOrld Championship.

The Cheerleading Judges Education Course is a two-day personal training program that consists of interactive instruction and hands-on instruction. After completing the multiple-choice test, participants will receive a Phase 1 certificate and a red pin. Those who wish to obtain Phase 2 will pass a video judging test, where the ability to evaluate and provide adequate feedback.

Course structure:

• Properly defining a judge and differentiating the types of judges
• Judging Responsibilities – How to prepare and what is expected of you as a judge
• Judging Objectives – What you as a judge should strive to do along with pointers
• Scoring – How to use a score sheet, master score sheet and maintain consistency
• Critiques – How to create and verbalize constructive feedback for each performance
• Areas of the Scoresheet – What characteristics define each category (Cheer, Partner Stunts, Pyramids, Tosses, Tumbling, Flow and Overall)
• What to look for regarding technique in tumbling, stunts, pyramids, and tosses
• What to look for regarding difficulty: athlete participation, stunt groups, mounts, transitions, body positions, dismounts, number of structures, squad synchronized tumbling

At the same time, on the second day, there will also be a recertification of judges with an already received license, this recertification is required to extend the validity of an international juror, as a juror's certification is valid for 4 years from its receipt. For recertification, an application is also required in the ICU portal.
